Elizabeth Taylor – “The Young Girl” – by Richard Bassett

No doubt that Dame Elizabeth was the quintessential young lady and in the late 1940′s, she was a role model for millions of other young ladies around the globe. She was titled Junior Miss on more than one occassion. There seemed to be always an award for being Elizabeth Taylor. As the times changed, she changed with the times. One reason this came so easily for her is the fact that she was born when she was born. It was perfectly acceptable for her to go from bobby soxer, to beatnik, to hippy, to a firm believer in women’s liberation, hanging out in disco’s, being a wealthy philanthropist, while still remaining age appropriate. She came into her own and started to live her true potential in her 50′s (1980′s), with so much drama behind her…she was able to concentrate on her multi-million dollar fragrance business, as well as raising half a billion dollars for AIDS/HIV when that plight/cause really needed it the most. She stepped up to the helm and is still going strong. I am honored to ist in any small way that I can. Please remember to donate.
