Are gay people effected by pheromones too?

Anyone know whether any tests have been done into the effects of pheromones betwen two homosexual people of the same gender?

Just for referance pheromones are produced by the body so I'm not talking about Hugo Boss perfumes here, they shouldnt be confused with negative bodily odours either like B/O or anything.

I know I am. The musky scent of a man makes me melt. As you said, not BO or bad smells, just the natural scent of a man. One whiff will get my attention.

I am also turned OFF by the natural aromas of females.

  1. No b/c that's strictly between a woman and a man

  2. Phermones do affect homosexuals; however, the effect tends to be the inverse of hetero exposure.

All human beings produce phermones that "advertise" when they are sexually interested/available. These chemicals stimulate certain unconscious reactions in those exposed to them. For instance, a straight man exposed to a woman's "available" phermones will likely become at least temporarily more interested in her. A gay man, on the other hand, wouldn't find the woman more attractive–but would be drawn to a man broadcasting "availability" phermones.

  4. Yup. In fact, they did a study once that showed that gay men's brains respond the same way to male pheremones as do straight women's! Very interesting.
