    I love both Lyric …
I love both Lyric for Men and for Women. I’m having quite the Amouage love affair these days!

  2. Ok, back to …
Ok, back to Jubilation XXV for Men. I really dig this fragrance. Wow, the quality of the frankincense is remarkable and I love the spices balanced against it-seems to even the fragrance out quite nicely. I am very impressed with Amouage, although I did not dig Reflection, Gold, Silver, or Cirrus at all-kinda generic to my nose. BUt, I must say, you need to try Dia.

  3. Anyway, I suggest …
Anyway, I suggest you check out Amouage, Lyric for Men (or even for women). The richness of the rose notes are quite stunning. I think that the Men’s version can easily be pulled off by a woman; I got some samples in the mail from Amouage and my g/f grabbed my 3 sample vials and began wearing them and, to be honest, she has received about 4 compliments on it. The silage and longevity is very striking and covers a big range.

    As it happens, …
As it happens, along with Jubilation XXV, Bond No 9 Silver Factory is one of my current “high rotation” faves. While they do share some aspects, (the fact that they have incense in them, basically) I’d say they have entirely different personalities. J-XXV is pure, dense, richly fruity-rosey-Jesusy, and Silver Factory is more artificial smokey-woody-strange comforting. In fact, you’ve just inspired me to review Silver Factory!

And yes, Bond No. 9 is quite handy with the free samples in the mail!

    Some people …
Some people actually say that Bond No. 9′s Silver Factory is similar to this one. Probably not as good, but still very interesting. I really love Bond. They make my heart melt. They call me all the time and give me all this attention, send me free samples in the mail…It’s quite the nice love affair.

    Yes, I believe I …
Yes, I believe I have the newer Gucci by Gucci. And I didn’t want to be impertinent, in case that was the one you were referring to, but jeez, that stuff is a spike between my eyeballs! I remember being confused when I first smelled it, cuz I’d read all the tantalizing “incense’n'woods” comments about the Pour Homme. Thanks for the clarification!

    Yeah most likely if …
Yeah most likely if your sample is a bit newer, it may be the new “Gucci,” by Gucci. Gucci Pour Homme is not as readily available, although its not really that hard to find. It was created by your friend Tom Ford, so do try…definitely a little bit on the masculine side, but if I see you walking across the street with it, it won’t stop me from complimenting you.

    Ha-ha, you busted …
Ha-ha, you busted me! For a while it was just you and me here, chatting away. I’m honored that you were hear so early and had so much good ‘fume knowledge to share.

Now, on to Gucci – I have a sample of something I thought was Gucci pour Homme, but it doesn’t float my boat – just not my cup of Tang. But it doesn’t smell incensey, either, so wonder if the sample’s mis-labled? Will check it next time I’m out hunting ‘fumes, cuz I do like your taste.

    Will return with my findings.

    Lol i’m actually …
Lol i’m actually kind of starstruck, Katie. I didn’t know that our humble perfume vlogger had such an extensive experience in front of the camera until I searched your name to pull up your videos. Anyway, since you like Jubilation XXV, I would suggest checking out Gucci Pour Homme. Lots of incense, woods, spice…and everything nice. My most recent purchase, and long overdue.

I really like your point about not falling for marketing ploys to call a fragrance male or female. Thanks for the tip.

    I haven’t explored …
I haven’t explored those 3 Amouages, but my brain is melting with joy over Homage Attar. It’s gorgeous: transcendently pure – and unexpectedly delicate, given the richness of the ingredients. Delicate, but not namby-pamby: the aristocratic materials unify into an ethereal choral blend where not one singer predominates. If you’re familiar with the sharpness of the ouds in the Montale line, you’ll be intrigued with how well oud still contributes a kink in Homage with the volume turned way down.

    I would like to …
I would like to recommend you to try a few others for the Amouage line if you haven’t already…Silver, Dia and Reflection. All of them very strong offerings. In the mean time, I’m curious about “Homage.” Heard a lot of good things about it. Tried it yet?

    Ohhh nice – I do …
Ohhh nice – I do enjoy my Creed. I wouldn’t write off some of their popular unisex offerings, such as Millesime Imperial and Silver Mountain Water (which I own), which I feel can both be pulled off by a woman. SMW has long been my favorite, (next to Green Irish Tweed) as it has very unique notes, and the drydown is heavenly.

    Your tip was an …
Your tip was an excuse to trot over to the fancy dept store and try Encre Noire, which was great to learn about! It’s a mellower version of Chanel’s Sycomore, which is intensely rich and herby. From there, the Creed lady snagged me, pegging me as an Angelique Encens dame, and darn it if she wasn’t right! So much for writing off the whole line on the basis of their sneeze-inducing 90′s creations.

  15. KatiePuckrikSmells

    I’ve read that …
I’ve read that Encre Noire compares favorably to The Different Co’s Sel de Vetiver and Hermes’ Terre d’Hermes – both of which I enjoy – so I shall investigate on my next hunting and gathering session.

  16. criminalmindxxxx

    I actually really …
I actually really do like Encre Noire…It’s a very sophisticated vetiver scent. It’s very unique, and I do recommend trying it.

  17. KatiePuckrikSmells

    Haven’t explored …
Haven’t explored the Lalique. You like? Creed makes me sneeze a little.

    I like this one. …
I like this one. I’m waiting for them to release a 50 dollar Amouage Dia and Silver fragrance though. Katie, have you smelled Lalique Encre Noire and the Creed line?

  19. KatiePuckrikSmells

    Yay! More Brian! …
Yay! More Brian! And yeah, no ad agency’s gonna tell me how to smell. I’ll butch it up as much as I like!

  20. Yay! More Katie …
Yay! More Katie Puckrik videos! And I agree, gender distinctions in fragrance due to marketing ploys shouldn’t matter when choosing what to wear. This sounds like an intoxicating scent!
