Can I be a Pastry Chef and Accessories Designer?

I'm 16 years old and I want to go to college for Culinary and Fashion Design. I want to be an Accessories Designer and have my own Cosmetic, Fragrance and Handbag Line. And I want to be a Pastry Chef also. I only know how to bake, Cakes, Pies, Cookies, Brownies and Bars and Puddings and different kinds of Fruit Deserts. Can I still become a Pastry Chef?

Since I have no clue where to start, which one should I do first? I'm so confused. Also, What are some good ideas or books to check out at the library since I'm kind of a Beginner in Culinary. How much money will I make doing these two(I'm just curious to know) These are two jobs that I would really like to do.

Thanks

  2. you might want to check into the pastry chef part, culinary arts schooling is alot harder than it sounds, i am not trying to discourage you, just let you know the road ahead of you. just look up culinary arts schools on the internet. since you are sixteen you have a liitle time to plan.but great ambition you are putting forth.

  3. Go work for a pastry chef in your area. It would provide you with some great experience and let you know the real meat of the job. Plus, it looks good on the culinary school's application that you have some professional kitchen experience.

  4. since you are young, I will be nice since as the question is slightly rhetorical. Of couse you can be both a pastry chef and an accesorries designer. You can go to culinary school and also go to a fashion design school. You can be anything you want. Many ppl work in two different profession at the same time.
