Im 20 years old and I just got into perfumes that been around for decades. Im looking for perfumes that came out way in early 1920s-1960s maybe 1970′s also and still would be appropriate for a 20 year old. Perfumes that are rich and light but not heavy. Something for daytime, college. Thanks…i searched some up….i would appreciate some feedback on them too..
Blue Grass by Elizabeth Arden
Passion By Elizabeth Arden
Tabu by dana
Je reviens by worth
L’Air du Temps by nina ricci
Anais anais by Cacharel
oh and i also want to know what you guys think about Issey Miyake perfume…
thank you ![]()
Rive Gauche by YSL is a rich green airy not to sweet scent.
L'eau Arpege by Arpege is along the same lines.
Blue grass is something like those, with a little lemon blossom thrown in to lighten it up even more.
Anais anais is a rich heavy floral with a musk and magnolia base.
Tabu is a very heavy spicy oriental – I've worn it, but coco by chanel is a much better evolution of that catagory of perfume.
Je reviens has an almost smoky scent to it – a very heavy deep woods scent that dries to a powdery finnish – think baby powder and cigar box and you'll be in the ball park.
Passion – well, its a nondescript spicy scent – pretty generic.
L'air du temp is a sharp powder scent as well.
Chanel 19 and 22 are light florals that are sophisticated and not too much like fabric softnener. (many older floral perfumes have that tendency)
By todays standards most older perfumes are pretty "simple"

Fleurs de Nuit by Badgely Mischka is my favorite. It’s flowery and sweet and smells like a beautiful garden. It’s inpsired by Laruen Bacall and the 1940s. I also like Love in Black by Creed, which is dedicated to Jackie Onassis.

Issey Miyake is a light aquatic floral that smells clean.
Its okay, but there are plenty of perfumes on the market that smell just like it at the drugstore.
Tink – Lover of all scented matter since 1972

I love this perfume called Daisy by Marc Jacobs. It smells really floral and light so I think that fits your criteria.

Any of the following will fit you:
Dior Midnight Poison – the name and the scent are simply amazing. I love when my wife wears it. It is very sexy and sophisticated scent. Also Davidoff Cool Water is very nice buy more common than Midnight Poison. Another good perfume is Burberry Brit and Armani Mania Femme.

Estee by Estee Lauder(1968)- very soft floral with a little powder note in it. Dry down is very soapy and clean.
Cristalle by Chanel(1974)-has a lemon fresh scent to it that is so crisp and clean.
Lauren by Ralph Lauren(1978)- very green herbal at first. Dry down is a soft floral that smells so very clean(like a fresh shampoo).
Anais Anais by Cacharel(1978)-very floral. Smells like you are in a spring garden of flowers. Very soft and pretty.
L’Air Du Temps by Nina Ricci(1948)- powdery and a soft floral fragrance. Similar to Estee. Has a soapy dry down.
White Linen by Estee Lauder(1978)- Crisp and floral. Almost like fresh laundry.
All of these I have and love. I would not trade them for anything. Good thing about older fragrances is you are not likely to encounter too many people wearing them these days. I applaud your choice of perfumes. You will not be sorry! I am sure you will have many compliments. Hope you enjoy them:)
